Accumulated inflation in three months reached 0.39%, but in March one of the products that increased in price the most was flour, according to the report by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

“In March 2022, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) registered a negative variation of -0.05% compared to February. The accumulated variation was 0.39% and at 12 months it was positive with an increase of 0.77%”, specifies the INE.

According to the report, wheat flour had a variation of 11% in March, cheeses 8.16%, eggs 3.93%, noodles 2%, onions 1.96%, cookies 1.29%, spices, sauces and condiments 1.49%.

The tomato had a negative variation 11.4%, chicken meat 3.20%, green peas 11.7%, green beans 13%, locoto 18.7%, potato 2.41% and papaya 11.8%.

The -0.05% decrease in the CPI registered in March is mainly explained by the negative variation in prices in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages divisions; Transport; Clothing and Footwear; and Education, explained the INE.

The negative variation was due especially to the decrease in prices in the capital cities and conurbations: Tarija -0.62%, Kanata Metropolitan Region -0.57%, Oruro -0.19%, Sucre -0.18% and Potosí -0 .03%.

Flour in markets rose to 220 and 245 bolivianos.
