After an uneven start, Flamengo geared up in the Brazilian Championship. This Wednesday (20), Rubro-Negro thrashed Juventude by 4-0, at the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília, for the 18th round of the competition. The match marked the debut of Everton Cebolinha, one of the reinforcements hired for the sequence of the tournament, who took to the field after the break, in place of fellow striker Pedro.
It was the fourth victory of the Cariocas in the last five games for the Brazilian. The team led by Dorival Júnior was 27 points, in seventh position, three points from the G6. Without winning for nine rounds, Juventude remains in the bottom, with 13 points, six behind Cuiabá, the first team outside the relegation zone.
In front of more than 65 thousand fans, Flamengo needed 18 minutes of ball rolling to open 3 to 0. The three goals were headed, always in plays initiated by the right side. At five, midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta crossed and Pedro scored the first. At 12, Pedro scored one more, after lifting Everton Ribeiro in the area. Six minutes later, the midfielder himself scored the net, with assistance from forward Gabriel, again on the right. At 37, midfielder Jadson, from Juventude, was expelled after an assault on Gabriel, making the Rio Grande do Sul mission at Mané Garrincha difficult.
Rubro-Negro maintained the offensive posture in the second stage, wasted opportunities, but managed to expand, again with a header, with the participation of Everton Cebolinha. At 40 minutes, Flamengo’s reinforcement received on the left, placed it in the area and forward Lázaro completed for the goal.
At the same time of the game in Brasília, Internacional and São Paulo drew 3-3 at Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre. Colorado, with 30 points, is in sixth position and missed the chance to finish the round in the runner-up position of the Brazilian. Tricolor is five points behind Inter, which closes the G6.
At three minutes, forward Pedro Henrique, with a header, put the gauchos ahead. Six minutes later, winger Igor Vinícius crossed low on the right and midfielder Nikão equalized. Inter returned to the front in the 24th minute, again with Pedro Henrique, completing (again) the header of the German striker. São Paulo reacted in a move similar to the first goal: a cross from below (now by forward Luciano) and Nikão’s conclusion, validated by the video referee (VAR), after an initial offside.
The first stage continued lively. At 37, Alemão was brought down by Thiago Couto in the area. The steering wheel Edenilson took the penalty and put the home team in front. At eight minutes of the second half, however, the lateral Rafinha crossed for the right, this time for the top, for Luciano, with head, to send in the corner of the goalkeeper Daniel, leaving everything the same for the third time in the night, now definitively.
