Five tips to improve your quality of life at work

It is a reality that working life can generate significant loads of stress in people. Personality, experience, and other characteristics of each person can influence how they respond to and cope with stress.

As we spend most of the day working -be it in a company or in our own business- it is important to remain optimistic and carry out our ideas to attract joy and well-being.

On the occasion of International Fun at Work Day (April 1) and World Entrepreneurship Day (April 16), Hotmart, a global technology company and leader in the creator economy, brings five important tips to help turn your passion into a business, as well as improve your quality of life at work:

1. Work on something you like. Sometimes it’s hard to get your dream job, but doing something you love is essential to feeling good at work and being happy. Make a list of those skills and interests that can be useful in your company and find common ground with your boss. As a last resort, you can choose to switch to another company or even start your own business in the world of digital products based on what you are really passionate about.

2. Learn to work as a team. If you want to have quality of work life, consider teamwork, as this not only improves any task but also helps your personal growth (and that of your colleagues) through the exchange of knowledge. You can set shared goals and work for their success.

3. Separate work from personal life. For many people this advice is almost impossible to follow, but it is essential to separate work life from personal life. It is not always good, for example, to focus only on work as your quality of life will decrease and you will feel more tired, unmotivated and impatient. Balance is the key: reserve some time to enjoy with your family, go out with your friends, travel, read a book or do another hobby.

4. Say “no” to procrastination. This is probably the hardest advice to follow, but procrastinating only serves to pile up work, increase your anxiety, and miss your schedule. As tempting as it may be to leave everything to the last minute, it’s important to try to be more efficient and tackle everything on time.

5. Be creative. It’s not hard to get sucked in by the monster of routine, but creativity can help fight it. It is not necessary to invent new products and services every day, but why not look at everyday activities and think of other ways to do them? Who knows, you might even come up with good insights to share with others to increase everyone’s quality of life.
