After several days without reporting deaths due to covid-19, the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on the afternoon of this Tuesday, May 11, that in the last 24 hours 5 deaths were reported due to this virus.
These five new deaths add up to a total of 8199 people who died as a result of this disease with a lethality of 1.03%.
The Minsa highlighted in its report this afternoon that 3,324 new positive cases were detected in the last hours, for a positivity of 21.5%.
The report highlights that the districts of Rufina Alfaro, Ancón, Juan Díaz, San Francisco, José D. Espinar and La Villa de Los Santos appear in today’s report as those with the highest number of positive cases detected in the last few hours. .
With these new figures to date in Panama, 796,461 accumulated cases of Covid-19 and 769,618 people recovered have been recorded to date.
15,473 new tests were applied, while the active cases total 18,644 throughout the country, of which 18,474 are in home isolation and 170 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 18,433 at home and 41 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 149 in the ward and 21 in the ICU.
