Five constituencies will go to a third round of the elections authorities of the National Electoral Council (CEN) announced this Wednesday.
In a press conference held in Havana, the president of the CEN, Alina Balseiro, ratified that the inhabitants with the right to vote in those constituencies they will attend the electoral colleges this Thursday, and that in this round the candidate who receives the most votes will win.

The second round of the elections at this level was held on Sunday December 4 in 925 constituencies in which none of the candidates obtained more than half of the votes after the elections held on November 27.
In an appearance after the second round, Balseiro reported that 139 of the 168 municipalities had at least one constituency involved in this process, with greater prominence in Havana and Santiago de Cuba, according to a report from the Prensa Latina (PL) agency.
The official presented the official data of the entire electoral process and explained that in the first and second rounds 12,422 delegates were elected, who will meet on December 17 to establish the municipal assemblies and elect their respective presidents and vice presidents, according to agreement with a office Cuban News Agency (ACN).
He specified that 5,728,220 voters exercised their right to vote for 68.56% of the electoral roll, a figure that he considered satisfactory in accordance with the context in which the country is experiencing and that, in his opinion, “expresses majority support for the electoral process itself, the revolution”.
It also transpired that of the total ballots deposited in the polls, 5,104,588 (89.11%) were valid, 299,089 (5.22%) remained blank, and 324,543 (5.67%) were annulled.
In the recent elections, 22,205 voters exercised their right to vote for the first time. Of the total number of delegates elected, 5,478 (44.10%) are women, a figure 8% higher than that of the 2017 elections, according to data reviewed by the ACN.
The CEN president recalled that under article 132.1 of the Electoral Law, once all the delegates are elected, and according to the approved schedule, the municipal assemblies of People’s Power will be constituted throughout the country for a next term.
