Fire in a house left two people dead

In the early hours of this Wednesday, a deadly fire occurred in a house in Ciudad de la Costa (Canelones) that resulted in the death of two people and a third person seriously injured.

In accordance with what is indicated by the National Fire Departmentthe event took place around 6:00 a.m. on this day in the vicinity of Lan Chile and Avianca streets, in the neighborhood airport (City of the Coast).

After receiving the warning for the incident, the fire personnel from the Solymar, Carrasco and Centenario Barracks moved to the site. Upon arrival, the officials found a fire that affected two farms and whose spread to other houses is “imminent.”

The work team was able to prevent the spread of the fire to other neighboring houses and controlled the fire.

After being able to control the flames, the fire personnel found the corpse of two elderly people. According to the statement, these people were affected by the “intense heat and smoke.” So far they could not find the identity of the dead.

On the other hand, a third woman –in this case, a woman of legal age– had to be transferred to the Hospital de Clínicas due to the burns she suffered. The victim’s state of health is “delicate”.
