Find out who are the candidates for governor of Pernambuco

The Electoral Justice received at least 28,000 candidacy registrations for the October elections. The campaign officially starts this Tuesday (16).Find out who are the candidates for governor of Pernambuco

Twelve applications for the presidency and 12 for vice president were received; 223 for governor and vice-governor, 231 for senator, 10,238 for federal deputy, 16,161 for state deputy and 591 for district deputy.

In Pernambuco, 11 candidates are running for office. Check out the complete list:

Anderson Ferreira (PL): Born in Recife, Ferreira, 49 years old, is a businessman. Former mayor of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, for two terms, he left office to contest the election for the state government. Before that, he already held the position of federal deputy for two terms (2011-2016), leaving the second term halfway through to run for mayor. State president of the legend, he will have as his deputy the lawyer and coreligionist Izabel Urquiza, 54 years old.

Claudia Ribeiro (PSTU): Cláudia Ribeiro, 50 years old, has a degree in pedagogy from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). She is currently a teacher in the municipal education network of the city of Recife. She worked in the trade union movement at the Municipal Union of Teachers of Recife (Simpere) and was once part of the State Executive of the Central Trade Union and Popular (CSP Conlutas). The candidate for vice is Professor Mariano, 57 years old, from the same party.

Danilo Cabral (PSB): third-term federal deputy, Cabral, 55, has also been a councilor in Recife. Auditor of the Federal Revenue, the candidate has already been head of the Administration Department of Recife and of the State Departments of Education, Cities and Planning and Management of Pernambuco. Luciana Santos (PCdoB) will be vice president, 56 years old.

Jadilson Bombeiro (PMB): Fire Department sergeant Jadilson Francisco de Andrade, 44, also holds a law degree and a degree in political science. The candidate has also been a soccer player, playing for teams in Pernambuco. Since 2020, he has been an alternate councilor in Olinda. The vice on the ticket will be Fernanda Souto Maior, 41 years old, from the same party.

João Arnaldo (PSOL): A 47-year-old lawyer, João Arnaldo has a master’s degree in development and the environment and a doctoral candidate in environmental law and sustainability. Born in Salgueiro (PE), Arnaldo was a candidate for vice-mayor of Recife in 2020. Alice Gabino (Rede Sustentabilidade), 42 years old, will be vice-mayor.

Jones Manoel (PCB): history teacher, 32 years old, communicator, popular educator and youtuber, Manoel in master’s degree in social work. He started his political activism by creating a free course for young people in the community, for more than ten years in the Borborema community, in the south zone of Recife, where he lives. The deputy on the ticket will be social worker Raline Almeida, 31, from the same party.

Marília Arraes (Solidarity): granddaughter of the former governor of Pernambuco, Miguel Arraes, Marília, 38, began her militancy at a young age in the student movement at the Recife Faculty of Law. She is currently a federal deputy and was a councilor for Recife for three terms. She has already run for mayor of Recife in 2020. Sebastião Oliveira (Avante), 54 years old, will be vice president.

Miguel Coelho (Union Brazil): Born in Recife, Coelho, 33, is the son of Pernambuco senator Fernando Bezerra Coelho (MDB) and has already held the position of state deputy. He was also mayor of Petrolina. Graduated in law, he has a postgraduate degree in leadership and public management. Alessandra Vieira, 49 years old, from the same party, will be the deputy on the ticket.

Pastor Wellington (PTB): lawyer and evangelical pastor, is 49 years old. Born in Garanhuns, he has already been a candidate for vice-mayor of Recife, in 2020. Lawyer Caroline Tosaka (PTB), 39, will be vice-mayor on the ticket.

Raquel Lyra (PSDB): A civil servant at the State Attorney General’s Office, 44 years old, Raquel holds a law degree from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), with a postgraduate degree in economic and business law. She was twice elected state deputy and was the state’s Secretary for Children and Youth. She was elected mayor of Caruaru (PE) in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. The deputy on the ticket will be deputy Priscila Krause (Citizenship), 44 years old.

Ubiracy Olímpio (PCO): Ubiracy Olímpio da Silva, 49, born in Recife, is a poet and writer. He works as a sales representative. He already ran for mayor of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, the city where he lives.
