The June festivities should generate R$ 641 million between the months of May and July in the state of São Paulo, according to the projection of the Center for Intelligence of the Tourism Economy (Ciet), linked to the Secretary of Tourism and Travel. The center calculates BRL 396.1 million in direct impact and BRL 244.9 million in indirect effects.
A large portion of this financial movement comes from public spending during the events, estimated at R$ 361.1 million. Tourists represent 12% of those who attend the June festivals, accounting for 37% of expenditures (R$ 133.2 million), while local residents account for 63% of consumption (R$ 227.9 million), calculated the Ciet.
According to information from the state, in 2022, events in 316 municipalities located in tourist regions should bring together 3.7 million people, generating 15,950 jobs.
Ciet’s projection shows that this year’s June parties practically recover the flow of visitors and financial movement, compared to the year 2019, period before the -pandemic.
According to the center, the estimated average audience in 2022 is 12,000 people per event. In 2019, the audience was around 14 thousand, and the financial movement was R$ 660 million.
