President Alberto Fernández met in New York with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, as part of the activities he is carrying out in parallel to his participation in the 77th UN General Assembly.
“A pleasure to be with you again, dear friend Macron. We both know that peace is urgent and necessary. Thank you for this invitation”expressed the president from his social networks, where he attached an image with his French colleague.
Fernández was specially invited by Macron to participate in a closed dinner together with 7 other presidents and that was convened to discuss energy.
In any case, and as Télam learned from official sources, both leaders have been maintaining a permanent dialogue on the need for all regions of the world to call for peace in Ukraine.
This position explains Fernández’s publication on his networks, where he referred to the “urgent” need to restore peace.
In the afternoon, the President had participated in the World Summit on Food Security invited by his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sánchez.
On that occasion, the Argentine president warned that world hunger “did not start” with the war in Ukraine, but “has to do with a capitalist system that expels and marginalizes.”
