President Alberto Fernández celebrated this Tuesday the massive reception of the citizens in the streets to the Argentine soccer team, which returned from Qatar with the World Cup, and reflected that the day “will remain forever in our hearts.”

“I celebrate the way in which the people turned to the streets to honor our National Team and the technical team,” Fernández wrote this afternoon on his Twitter account.

The President, who remained in the Olivos Residence during the day, accompanied his post with an aerial photo of the surroundings of the Obelisk, where a crowd demonstrated.

“Millions of Argentine men and women in the streets, in a different December, which will remain forever in our hearts,” the president remarked.

In the same thread, Fernández highlighted: “We were all able to thank in unity and harmony the enormous joy that they have given us. As President, I join this.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Security, Hannibal Fernandezdescribed the reception given today by the Argentine people to the national soccer team as a “historical celebration.”

“A historic celebration with 5 million Argentines in the street, after hours of caravan without advancing more than a few kilometers, the National Team took the Cup to the sky and did an Olympic aerial tour in PFA (Argentine Federal Police) and Prefecture ships to see from there the immense gratitude of the people”, Anibal Fernández wrote on his Twitter account.

And he pointed out that “with Federal and Prefectural Police helicopters, the world champions flew over spaces full of fans. With several million people sharing, they took a huge Olympic lap.”

“Congratulations guys! You are a legend and pride of all Argentines,” concluded the minister.

Due to the large number of people circulating on the Ricchieri highway, the open-top bus transporting the team, which left at 11:40 from the Argentine Football Association (AFA) premises, had barely been able to cover the kilometers it had covered in 3:40 hours. they separate it from the Central Market, where it happened shortly after 3:00 p.m.

Due to the long delay, and after two people jumped from a bridge into the bus, around 4:00 p.m. it was decided to interrupt the caravan by land and transport the players in helicopters that they boarded at the Federal Police Cadet School, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Lugano, to fly over to greet the crowd gathered throughout the downtown radius of the city of Buenos Aires.

Thus, more than five million fans saw them pass over the 25 de Mayo highway, the 9 de Julio avenue and the Plaza de Mayo -where giant screens had been set up to follow the celebrations- and once the aircraft started to return to the AFA property began deconcentration

“Let’s continue celebrating in peace and showing them our love and admiration!” Completed the presidential spokesperson, and later, once the reception was over, she wrote “Thank you Champions for this huge celebration!”

Meanwhile, the president of the AFA, Claudio ‘Chiqui’ Tapia, thanked “the province of Buenos Aires, headed by its Minister of Security Sergio Berni”, for having been “the only one who accompanied us throughout the tour until the entrance to the Capital without registering any incident, allowing the players to embrace the Argentine people”, as published on the same social network.

In the last tweet of ‘Chiqui’ Tapia, along with several photos, it was read: “Thank you for so much love! We are the most soccer-loving country in the world! The cup is already at home.”
