Upon leaving the Government House to participate in the Te Deum at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Alberto Fernández spoke with accredited journalists and left a message for society on the national date.

We must have more unity than ever because it is a very difficult time in the world, which after the pandemic that brought us so much pain, now subjects us to a bloody war that no one would have wanted.“, remarked the head of state.

And he continued: “We have to continue working for peace and wherever I go I am going to ask for peace, because it is a time of reunion and where We cannot give ourselves the permission to subject humanity to more harm and more difficulties.“.

“Where I am going I will say it. I will say it at the G20, I will say it eventually at the Summit -of the Americas- and I will say it at the G7 where they invited me,” he added.

Fernández assured that “unity depends on us” and remarked that “what we most need, in this troubled and very damaged world where humanity runs the risk of suffering great famines, is to unite efforts.”

In a message to the official and opposition political leaders, he stated: “You have to join forces. I don’t want them to think like me, just to know that people come first”he concluded.

Regarding the date on which the formation of the First National Government is commemorated and also the 19th anniversary of the presidential inauguration of Néstor Kirchner, he indicated: “We commemorate May 25, 1810, which was the transit of Argentina towards its independence and which coincided with the day we arrived -at the Presidency- with Néstor back in 2003”.
