Social and feminist organizations called for a national strike and a mobilization this Wednesday in Congress under the slogan “with this justice there are no rights or democracy”, “the debt is with the workers” and against political violence, within the framework of the Day International of Working Women.
The main march was called by feminist organizations and unions this Tuesday starting at 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of 9 de Julio and de Mayo avenues to go to Congress.
“The main axes of this seventh International Feminist Strike are the economic situation, to continue marking that the debt is with us and not with the Monetary Fund and creditors, denouncing the patriarchal and racist nature of justice and defending ourselves from the climate of political violence against women, lesbians, transvestites and trans “Ni Una Menos militant Luci Cavallero told Télam.
In this sense, he stressed that “the heart of this date” is the “pending economic agenda” that it is “related to the possibility of generating economic autonomy to get out of violence.”
To respond to the economic situation that “is very pressing for women”, she named some of the most important points such as the recognition of community work and the income redistribution.
Meanwhile, on the “patriarchal and racist character of justice”Cavallero highlighted “the criminalization of popular leaders such as Milagro Sala and Cristina Fernández”, but also the “cases of compañeras criminalized for marching, for organizing.”
In addition, he warned about the revictimization of those who denounce gender violence, and when justice “does nothing against the claim for alimony” or when “it systematically rules in favor of the corporations”.
“The third axis is the violence poheítica. We diagnose that there is an advance of speeches that are anti-feminist, anti-LGBTIQ, speeches that criminalize us. It’s a whole climate that tends to discipline women’s political participation,” she added.
The CTA will hold a press conference on the occasion of the feminist strike this Wednesday at 8 at Plaza Lavalle, in the San Nicolás neighborhood, and called on the unions at 4 at Avenida de Mayo and Salta to march.
Meanwhile, the Professional Artistic Training Center (CeCAP) will meet with the educative community at 11 at the Carlos Pellegrini Higher School of Commerce and at 2 pm they will gather on Avenida de Mayo and San José, under the slogan “Without a feminist perspective there is no inclusive education.”
In turn, the Ombudsman of the City of Buenos Aires will set up a gazebo, starting at 3:00 p.m., in Lima and Avenida de Mayo, from where they will provide information and screens will be installed to promote the institutional campaign against digital gender violence.
The activity is related to the theme chosen by the United Nations (UN) to commemorate this year on March 8: “For an inclusive digital world: Innovation and technology for gender equality”.
On the other hand, the collective Traversed by femicide will meet from 8 to 17 in front of the Congress with an intervention based on posters and a tender with women’s clothing representing the victims of femicide.
