The National Police found the body of the councilor of the Huanchuy town center, Deysi Hierbasanta Ubaldo (39), who would have been murdered by her partner. The crime was recorded in Casma, Ancash region, causing great commotion in the population.
The body was found in a mango farm and showed signs of suffocation (strangulation). Villagers notified the authorities and the troops confirmed the identity of the victim.
Deysi Hierbasanta was last seen on September 19, in the city of Casma. Meanwhile, officers arrested Damián Dueñas (46), the councillor’s partner, as the main suspect.
This person was intervened at the intersection of Garcilaso de la Vega and Las Palmas streets. Regional information specified that Deysi Hierbasanta would have had a strong argument minutes before his murder.
Damián Dueñas was taken to the facilities of the Criminal Investigation Area (Areincri) of the PNP. The case is being investigated for femicide and is in the hands of prosecutor José Martín Zevallos Rodríguez, from the First Provincial Corporate Prosecutor’s Office of Casma.
