Frederick Braunbecame the focus of criticism from different sectors, after his controversial statements during the celebration of the forum of the Argentine Business Association (AEA).
The owner of the Anonymousone of the most important supermarket chains in the country, has even been criticized by President Alberto Fernández, since Frederick Braunwhen questioned about inflation, responded with what he later described as a “joke”.
“What does La Anónima do with inflation?”, they asked during the forum to Frederick Braunto which he responded with a laugh: “It marks prices every day, to be honest.” In addition, the businessman was against price controls, since for him “it is ridiculous to impose price controls.”
One of the first to question the “joke” of Braunwas President Alberto Fernández, who also participated in the celebration of the AEA with a recorded video in which he precisely spoke of the commitment that entrepreneurs must assume in the distribution of income.
After the businessman’s statements, the Head of State published a series of messages on his Twitter account, where he emphasized “that it is evident that businessmen do not understand their responsibility.”
Vice President Cristina Kirchner also joined these criticisms, assuring that Braun What he did was “tell what entrepreneurs do every day.” Also, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, described the joke of the head of the Anonymous as “pathetic”.
Massa also added that “this type of character, who once wanted to make fun of leaders like me by pointing them out with nicknames, shows that in reality they are the profiteers, the opportunists and those who do not have social sensitivity with what is happening in Argentina because they are hidden behind a gondola.
Additionally, the head of the Chamber of Deputies suggested that it is possible for the Government to take measures against businessman after his confession, “we have the Secretaries of Defense of Competition and Domestic Trade to apply the rules that we understand that the owner of this supermarket failed to comply with.”
Grocers rejected Federico Braun’s statements
In dialogue with AM750, the head of the Federation of Grocers of the Province of Buenos Aires (FABA), Fernando Savore, condemned the comment by the president of Anónima and asserted that the issue is not to be taken as a joke.
“I think it is not to be laughed at or to tell a joke of that type at the moment we are living” and he remarked “they are price makers, whoever has a large deposit, when increases arrive, it suits them since it increases their profit”.
