Favela: FGR does not share data with INE and stops progress in the Pío López Obrador case

As a result, on December 23, 2021, the plenary session of the TEPJF ordered the Special Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes (FEDE) dependent on the FGR, to deliver to the Institute the aforementioned file of the brother of President López Obrador.

In January of this year, the Prosecutor’s Office presented a constitutional controversy before the SCJN, against the ruling of the TEPJF.

Minister stops order to FGR

On April 20, the minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) Yasmín Esquivel Mossa stopped the order issued to the FGR to deliver to the INE copies of the open investigation file against Pío López Obrador on possible electoral crimes. .

A day later, Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, president of the INE, trusted that the Court “correct the brake” granted to the Prosecutor’s Office, so that it can deliver the requested information to the Institute.

“It seems that the Constitution is no longer so clear because it says that the decisions of the TEPJF are final and unassailable, now it seems that they are no longer final and unassailable because the Court has already become a third instance regarding the decisions of the Court,” said Córdova Vianello.
