Father Román, one of the most critical religious voices of the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship, is in exile due to the constant threats he received, including from the regime’s spokeswoman, Rosario Murillo.

“There are moments in life when we have our Palm Sunday and our Good Friday. Nicaragua is immersed in a deep sociopolitical, economic and human rights crisis that worsened in 2018, the regime ordered to repress the population that demonstrated against the Government and suffocate with bullets the popular expression that demanded the resignation of Ortega and Murillo.
