FANB dismantled illegal mining camp in Parque Canaima

Illegal track destroyed in Parque Canaima

Through Operation Roraima 2022, FANB troops found and detected in the Los Arenales sector, in the Gran Sabana municipality, in the south of Bolívar state, an illegal track that was inside the Canaima National Park, reported the division general , José Viloria Romero, Commander of the URRA Cojedes.

In the video published in the message on Twitter, it is pointed out that the Canaima National Park is an area under a special administration regime and this type of illegal structures should not exist.

In this sense, Major General Viloria Romero emphasized that under the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, the novelty passed and the runway was ordered to be disabled under the supervision of REDI Guyana.

“We have carried out an incursion through an airborne operation towards the runway that served as a logistic flow for the armed groups of organized crime, which operate in the sector, for illegal exploitation. In the camp we have located 240 liters of fuel, used by the aircraft that the FANB has eliminated,” said Viloria Romero.

FANB continues to fight against illegal mining

For this reason, the FANB continues its operations in defense and security of the nation, stressed the head of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez.

«Venezuela is territory of Peace! Structures associated with drug trafficking, paramilitary camps, human trafficking, illegal mining or any organization with criminal or terrorist purposes will not be allowed. They will be dismantled and destroyed,” he said.

It is important to highlight that the FANB has been very emphatic in stressing “all structures and logistical means present in the National Parks and Environmental Reservoirs protected by the State, where criminal armed groups operate arbitrarily, will be destroyed,” said a message from Hernández Lárez.

Tancol Camp in Catatumbo River

Likewise, in another operation, this time on the banks of the Catatumbo River, between Colombia and Venezuela, the FANB, through the Bolivarian Shield 2022 of Catatumbo, dismantled the camp of the Armed Terrorist Drug Trafficking groups of Colombia (Tancol).

«FANB, in the exercise of national sovereignty, will not tolerate the presence of any armed group operating in national territory, they will be legally intervened and their facilities will be destroyed. #FANB dismantles the TANCOL camp on the banks of the Catatumbo River,” Hernández Lárez said on Twitter.

FANB active defending sovereignty

The FANB will continue to be active and in permanent deployment to put an end to illegal mining, human trafficking and drug trafficking practices.

The actions undertaken by the FANB on all the country’s borders respond to the instruction given by President Nicolás Maduro, who declared the year 2022 a free year for the Tancols. On that occasion, he ordered the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) to free all the border areas of the country from these gangs.
