FANB destroyed “invading drug plane”

During a maneuver of the Bolivarian Shield Operation “Vuelvan Caras”, members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) destroyed an aircraft allegedly belonging to drug trafficking groups.

This information was disseminated through the twitter account of General Domingo Hernández Lárez, head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Fanb (Ceofanb).

Hernández Lárez specified that “invading drug-trafficking plane No. 20 of the year 2022” was disabled and destroyed; for violating airspace without an identification code or authorization from the Maiquetía FIR.”

The head of Ceofanb accompanied the information with a photograph and stated that “we remain deployed, clearing the national territory and thus guaranteeing the free transit of our people.”

So far this year, 54 unauthorized runways have been destroyed during 47 anti-drug operations, according to a balance offered this week by General Richard López, head of the National Anti-Drug Superintendence (Sunad).
