FANB destroyed camp and seized 21 mortar shells

An encampment of irregular groups was detected and destroyed in the La Estrella sector, Catatumbo municipality, Zulia, according to military sources.

The operation was carried out in the midst of the advance carried out by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) against the Tancol groups, that is, Armed Terrorist Drug Traffickers from Colombia that have taken over the border area.

General Domingo Hernández Larez, head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command, confirmed the deployment called Operation Bolivarian Shield 2022 Catatumbo Lightning.

“The FANB will not accept any kind of invasion by any foreign faction or clan in this sacred homeland. The Tancol groups will be expelled from our national territory, sovereignty is not negotiated,” Hernández Larez wrote.

On this occasion, members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) located within the improvised infrastructure seven panels of cocaine weighing 8 kilos 705 grams, as well as two panels of marijuana that yielded 1 kilo 100 grams.

But the military also found war material, which includes 10 kilos 680 grams of gunpowder and 20 mortar shells of 60 mm, 120 mm, 150 mm, 200 and 250 mm.

The war material also included 9 anti-personnel mines, 5 40mm caliber cartridges, four active improvised round cylinders, 200 meters of conductive cable and a 9mm caliber pistol.

The Tancol group kept other materials in that camp such as 4 radio transmitters, an oxygen pump, 354 grams of urea, telephone equipment, 6 campaign bags, 10 campaign vests, 2 pairs of rubber boots, 2 motorcycles and 660 liters of gas.

The Public Ministry was informed of the procedure.
