The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued for this Wednesday red alerts for extreme temperatures due to heat for the south of the province of Buenos Aires and the center of Santa Fe, in the midst of a string of exhausting days that began a week ago in Patagonia and spread to the center of the country.
In addition, orange level warnings are maintained for sectors of La Pampa, Río Negro, Entre Ríos and the province of Buenos Aires.
The red level It is the maximum alert ordered by the meteorological agency that implies a “high to extreme health effect” and warns that the temperatures in these areas are “very dangerous and can affect all people, even healthy ones.”
The areas affected by the red alert in the province of Buenos Aires are the north of Bahía Blanca, the west of Patagones, the west of Villarino, Puán, and the low areas of Coronel Pringles, Coronel Suárez, Saavedra and Tornquist.
Meanwhile, in Santa Fe, the provincial capital and the cities of Belgrano, Castellanos, Las Colonias, San Martín, Garay and San Jerónimo are affected by the extreme heat that has persisted for days.
For these localities, maximum temperatures close to 35 degrees are expected, and even higher as in the city of Santa Fe, where the SMN forecast for this Wednesday 37 degrees.
Orange level weather alerts
In turn, the meteorological agency maintains orange level weather alerts for almost the entire province of The Pampa; the south of the province of Buenos Aires; the center and east of Black river and the north of Between rivers.
Orange alerts mean that temperatures “can be very dangerous”especially for risk groups, and it is warned that they imply a “moderate to high effect on health”.
According to the SMN, in recent days an event of very high temperatures began in a large part of the country, where the northern patagonia with maximum values above 40 degrees for several consecutive days.
However, on Tuesday a cold front entered Patagonia which caused a slight drop in temperatures and that same mass of cold air will continue to move towards the north of the country.

The recommendations
