The Chamber of Exporters, Logistics and Investment Promotion of Santa Cruz (Cadex) calculated that its sector loses up to 300,000 dollars a day due to trucks stopped on the border with Chile, where there are around 1,500 units, a problem that has been registered since the end of Last December, because the motorized capacity decreased by 50% due to the greater control of positive cases of Covid-19. From this Thursday, Inlasa begins the daily taking of PCR tests in Tambo Quemado.
“We have calculated on costs that are around between 250,000 and 300,000 dollars per day for that contingent of trucks, but not only that, the stranded trucks are making it impossible for that fleet to arrive and pick up imported cargo, that is, the impact is on the logistics, to trade and it is to exports with extra cost”, said the general manager of Cadex, Martín Salces.
