Executive will continue consultation on Ministry of Justice

Ejecutivo continuará consulta sobre Ministerio de Justicia

Santo Domingo.- The legal consultant of the Executive Branch, Antoliano Peralta, reported that this Thursday they will continue to develop consultations for the creation of a Ministry of Justice and that they will meet with business associations linked to this sector such as the Institutionality and Justice Foundation (FINJUS), Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), National Council for Private Enterprise (CONEP), American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR) and Citizen Participation.

The meeting will take place at 9:00 in the morning at the Business Tower on Sarasota Avenue near Abraham Lincoln Avenue.

The same happens at the meeting held last Tuesday, January 24, with representatives of all the law schools in the country at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, and which responds to the request of President Luis Abinader to consult the national sectors related to the judicial area. prior to submitting the proposal in the National Congress on February 27.

It is recalled that the purpose of the Ministry of Justice is to be the “organ responsible for administrative matters that currently imply an unnecessary burden for the Public Ministry and that distracts it from its role of directing the criminal investigation and exercising public action on behalf of the society”.

The proposal has also been discussed with authorities from the Judiciary, the Public Ministry, the Office of the Ombudsman, the Ministries of Foreign Relations and Public Administration.
