Even with the 4,913 million cut to the exorbitant Expenditure that he requested for 2022, the National Electoral Institute (INE) may organize the consultation for the revocation of the presidential mandate, Morena considered in the Chamber of Deputies.

In a document to support his vote, he stresses that the elections in six states will not be so big and complex like last June. It also affirms that the reduction of 3 billion to the Judicial Power of the Federation (PJF) is based on the scenarios of corruption, nepotism, conflict of interest and influence peddling that have not been eradicated, despite the efforts made through constitutional reform.

Rubén Moreira, PRI coordinator, spoke out against the reduction in the budget requested by the INE, because weakens the revocation of mandate. In addition, he estimated that the majority party has a continuous practice of beating the electoral body.

For his part, the national leader of Morena, Mario Delgado, said that in the electoral institute there are waste and excess, which counselors are used to, who They are absolutely unaware that the public budget is not from the government, it is from the effort of millions of Mexicans who work and from companies that also contribute with their taxes..

The majority party explained that even with the reduction, the INE would have a sufficient budget to face the electoral processes scheduled for next year, as well as to fulfill its constitutional obligations and those provided for in secondary laws.

When comparing the budget suggested in the opinion and the one approved for 2019, when there was no federal election, he pointed out that the institute will have an increase of more than 4 billion pesos for next year, that is, 13.32 percent more. If contrasted with that of 2020, the increase would be more than 4.3 billion. Said increase would be enough for the mandate revocation process, which would have a cost of 3 thousand 830 million pesos, as established by the institute itself in its budget proposal, he stressed.

Something that makes the expense question exorbitant requested by the INE (more than 24 billion pesos) is that the Internal Control Body found various anomalies during 2020, which put the administration of resources into question and led to the opening of 379 investigations for various crimes, such as embezzlement and bribery.

Regarding the PJF, Morena pointed out that its internal problems have led to obstacles to the correct administration of justice in the country. He pointed out that from 2019 to September 2021, the Federal Judicial Council sanctioned 23 magistrates and 18 judges for the commission of dishonorable acts, including sexual harassment, nepotism and corruption.

At risk, stability of the country if there is a lack of funds to do the process well, warns Murayama

From the Editorial Office

If the claim of the parliamentary majority in the Chamber of Deputies to reduce by 4 thousand 913 million pesos the budget of the National Electoral Institute (INE) by 2022 is materialized, the execution of the exercise of revocation of mandate would be placed at serious risk, he said. the counselor Ciro Murayama in his social networks; He considered it regrettable that legislators adopt momentous decisions in a visceral way.

He affirmed that given the importance of the future of the President of the Republic for the stability of the country, if the requirements for the revocation of the mandate are specified (that the signatures of 3 percent of citizens registered in the nominal list, around 2.7 million), the INE would be required to install the same number of polls that were placed during the 2018 presidential election.

This would imply 162 thousand boxes and the training of 12 million citizens for its operation, because it cannot be improvised for an exercise that could lead to the interruption of the presidential term, something that has not happened in Mexico since 1932.

If the proposed cut in the Budget Commission of San Lázaro is specified, it is materially impossible for the revocation of the mandate to be feasible. We are in time to correct so that it can be budgeted and the exercise is done with certaintynoted the counselor.
