Until March 31, 2023, pharmacies will have to exhaust medicines with precursor content, this after the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that it will allow the sale of these medicines until the date before mentioned.
Through a statement, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) highlighted that the national medicine policy established by Law 109 of November 12, 2019, establishes that medicines are essential social goods for the recovery and maintenance of health and for the prevention of diseases and that the State is responsible for universal access to health care services.
And that due to what is established in articles 387 and 642 of Executive Decree 115 of August 16, 2022, on the commercialization and registration of stocks of medicines or finished products that contain precursor substances, the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs, Considering the impact of patient access to these medications, it will allow pharmacies to run out of stock, setting March 31, 2023 as the deadline.
With this temporary measure, patients will continue to receive their medications, emphasizing the care required by the use of products containing precursors.
Precursors are substances found in everyday products for pharmaceutical and scientific purposes.
