After a period of trial and error, the Social Health Insurance (EsSalud) inaugurated today in Chota, Cajamarca, a Bicentennial hospital, duly equipped with state-of-the-art technology and specialized personnel, which will provide timely and quality medical care to more than 22,000 residents. .
The president of the Republic, peter castleand the head of EsSalud, Cheerful Fonsecaalong with other authorities, arrived in the town of Cajamarca to put into operation the modern hospital, which has been built on a land of almost 15 thousand square meters, donated by the Provincial Municipality of Chota.
Fonseca Espinoza stressed that the hospital will help reduce the gap in hospital infrastructure and will benefit more than 22,000 insured persons in Chota.

The Bicentennial Hospital, whose execution required a investment of S/ 26 million, has 42 hospitalization beds, each with fixed oxygen supply points, a surgical center, an obstetric center, as well as an emergency area. Soon a blood bank and a modern laboratory will be implemented.
In addition, it has offices in general medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics-gynecology, internal medicine, general surgery, dentistry, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, ophthalmology, obstetrics, among other specialties.
Likewise, 169 new health professionals were hired who will be in charge of providing medical care to the population, 24 hours a day.

The Bicentennial Hospital has state-of-the-art equipment such as a portable ultrasound machine, laparoscopic surgery tower, mechanical ventilators, incubators, multi-parameter vital functions monitor, anesthesia machines, sterilization equipment, among other essential medical devices.
With the Chota hospital, there are three bicentennial hospitals implemented by EsSalud in Jauja (Junín) and Canta Callao (Lima), and another similar one will be inaugurated in Chao, La Libertad, in the coming days.
More hospitals and medical equipment
The president of EsSalud said that his institution plans to build 75 Bicentennial hospitals and 18 highly complex and long-lasting hospitals in the 30 service and care networks at the national level.
He noted that it will also invest in the purchase of magnetic resonance imaging, tomographs and other biomedical equipment to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of diseases to our policyholders.
In addition, the purchase of a batch of ambulances is planned for the transfer of patients who are in critical health condition to hospitals.
