Environmental license approved for Kalé project pilot in Santander

In the last few hours, the National Authority for Environmental Licenses (Anla) approved the filing of Ecopetrol to have an environmental license in the Kalé fracking project.

Which is located in the corregimiento Kilometer 8, of the municipality of Puerto Wilches, department of Santander.

The Environmental License granted for the “Integral Research Pilot Project –
PPII- Kalé”, does not include in any of its stages, the application in exploratory phase or commercial development of the Multistage Hydraulic Fracturing technique with Horizontal Drilling.

The document explains what is environmentally viable the construction of 1 a location or platform, with an area of ​​up to 4.67 ha, within which the research, injector and collector wells will be drilled.

Ecopetrol, in turn, must make a study where the topographic survey of the area of ​​the location to be built, geotechnical, hydraulic and soil analysis is contemplated, which must be presented in the ICA Environmental Compliance Report for the location.
