The business organization said that given the inflationary environment facing the country, the recovery of the economy may stall and lose more jobs.

The CDMX is one of the entities that has been slow to recover the jobs registered with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), the 2021 figures show that there are 3.2 million workers, when in February 2020, before the closure of activities due to the pandemic, jobs amounted to 3.4 million people.

But the economic recovery in 2022 will not only be challenging for the Mexican capital, it will also be challenging for the entire country since last year, since it will be incomplete, according to Gabriela Siller, director of economic-financial analysis at Banco BASE.

The economist said that this year the Mexican recovery will have challenges such as the prolongation of the pandemic and internal economic policy with the discussion of the electrical reform.

“(The) main risks for the Mexican economy in 2022: slowdown in the US, approval of the electricity reform, mandate revocation consultation, controversies between the US and Mexico over electricity reform, high inflation, disruptions in global supply chains and Covid19 “Siller pointed out.
