The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) released this week the profile of the poll workers who were called to assist in holding the 2022 Elections. The first round is scheduled for October 2nd and an eventual second round takes place on October 30th.
In all, there are 1,775,647 nominated voters, 48% of whom voluntarily enlisted for the job. The others were summoned according to legal criteria, giving priority to people with higher education, teachers and Electoral Justice servants, for example.
Among those who will work this year, 68% (1,206,090) are women. Most have higher education (36.03%) or high school (32.17%). The vast majority is also single (62.74%) and is between 35 and 39 years old (303,262).
This year, the number is lower than that of the last general elections, held in 2018, when 1,896,732 poll workers were appointed.
