Efforts to reactivate direct route Venezuela - Algeria accelerate

With the reactivation of a direct route between Venezuela and Algeria in the near future, the strengthening of cooperation ties between the two countries, highlighted this Friday the Minister for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán.

In a message posted on his account on the social network Twitter, Velásquez Araguayán emphasized that with the direct route, soon to be activated between Venezuela and Algeria, the expansion of the country’s connectivity with the different nations of the world.

“We have accelerated efforts to reactivate as soon as possible a direct route between Venezuela and Algeria, which will allow us to continue strengthening cooperation ties between brother nations and further expand our country’s connectivity with the world,” Velásquez published.

By July 2022, civil aviation authorities from Venezuela and Algeria held a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transportation in Algiers, in order to evaluate the opening of a direct airline between the capitals of both countries.

According to a statement issued by the Algerian Transport portfolio, this meeting was organized in accordance with the instructions given by the president of that country, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to finalize the details of the air connection.

For this moment, the Minister of Transportation of Algeria, Abdullah Mongi, stressed that the opening of the direct airline between Algiers and Caracas “will contribute to the consolidation of economic and cultural relations between the two countries.”

Likewise, “it will help to improve the volume of commercial exchanges and the movement of people and merchandise as well as strengthen tourism and scientific and cultural missions,” added the Minister.

Relations Venezuela – Algeria

In June 2022, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced the reactivation of the High Level Mixed Commission with Algeria, in order to draw up a new cooperation map for the development of both nations.

“We have decided to relaunch the High-level Mixed Commission, so that our work teams can draw up this economic, commercial, financial, cultural, educational, and shared prosperity map,” said the Venezuelan head of state after a press conference in Algeria. where was he as part of the international tour he carried out through Eurasia.

Venezuela and Algeria began to establish diplomatic ties in 1971 with the exchange of notes between their representatives at the United Nations Organization in New York, United States.

Since the year 2000, diplomatic relations have been invigorated with the development of a series of official work visits, indicates the Vice Presidency of the Republic on its website.

Functional check flight of ATR42 aircraft carried out

The People’s Power Minister for Transportation and President of Conviasa, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, reported this Friday that the functional verification flight of the ATR42 plane was carried out.

“The working class of Conviasa in the aeronautical maintenance area demonstrates that producing is the best way to resist when placing the ATR42 aircraft on line, today the test flight was carried out with complete success. This aircraft will add more destinations”, indicated the minister in his account of the social network Twitter.

Since October 2022, the Venezuelan state airline Conviasa began the recovery and maintenance of an ATR42 aircraft, which will be operational for domestic routes.
