From this month, Educatigo joins the Tigo grid in its direct satellite television service to reach more than 60,000 new usersreported the operator through a press release.
“The signal of our channel is expanding. Now our clients will be able to access our educational channel through the satellite TV service, this implies that more people, mainly from remote areas, will be able to complement their knowledge with the content that Educatigo offers”, reported Maria Laura Mendoza, Manager of Brand and Institutional Communication of Tigo.
The satellite signal allows the Educatigo channel to reach remote places, where local television in some cases does not reachIn addition, being part of the satellite grid opens the possibility that other countries where Tigo has operations can, in a short time, have access to the Educatigo signal, if they so require.
This program was launched in September 2021 and is the first television channel with 100% educational content 24 hours a dayfocused on developing skills in different areas: digital, scientific, technological, citizen and entrepreneurship.
The initiative was born as a fundamental part to mitigate the effects of the covid-19 pandemic and contribute to education, from digital spaces, reaching more people.
Educational content at all times
Educatigo is on the air 24 hours a day. Its exclusive programming encourages the development of different skills in children, youth and adults. It also includes information on responsible use of the internet and cybersecurity tips.
The programming is constantly updated, for example, last month new programming chapters were released with the famous Sesame Street characters, in addition to the Super Genios series and this month the educational program Happy Learning will be broadcast.
The signal is available on channels 90 and 179 of the Tigo Hogar cable TV service and in DTH technology it is broadcast on channel 90.
