The Congresswoman Gladys Echaiz questioned the invitation extended to him by the Popular Force spokesman, Hernando Guerra, who asked him to join the Board of Directors occupying the place of the third vice-presidency that corresponds to the Fujimori caucus with the Parliamentarian Lady Camones list (APP).
The spokesperson’s request arises after the exapepista announced last Saturday her candidacy for the presidency of Congress hand in hand with Renovación Popular and Avanza País.
“Well, I don’t know with what intention (Hernando Guerra) they are making the invitation, earlier I made my invitation to all the democratic caucuses that want to join this project (my candidacy). (…) I did it publicly through a press conference”, the congresswoman told La República.

Gladys Echaiz He also indicated that he was surprised by the announcement by the spokesman for Fuerza Popular, since in the meeting that both held—days before—he made his candidacy for the Board of Directors official, he did not comment on said initiative.
“I don’t know why they are making the invitation, when I met with Mr. Guerra days before, he didn’t tell me about it. So who should I ask is why they are inviting me (…) My candidacy was through a consensus as decisions are made in benches, not personally as they are doing”, he explained to this medium.
Echaíz mentioned that, on Monday, July 25, the Popular Renovation caucuses will present the congressmen from other caucuses that will accompany her in her candidacy for the Board of Directors. “On Monday (July 25) we will officially present our list and who will make it up. We cannot anticipate anything. The presentation will be public”, he sentenced.
