Major Guillermo Guzmán, of the National Directorate of Traffic Operations of the National Police, announced this Monday that during the days off for Holy Week a total of 224 traffic accidents were recorded., in which there were 91 injured and one fatal victim in the Capira sector.

He explained that 6,996 fines were applied to drivers for committing violations of the Traffic Regulations.

“Of these, 2,642 were for exceeding the speed limits and we were able to remove 214 drivers from circulation for being in a state of proven drunkenness,” he explained.

Regarding the displacement, he pointed out that about 102 thousand drivers moved to different areas of the interior of the Republic, which represents approximately 3 thousand more drivers compared to last year.
