The Duo Iris was the winner of the contest San Remo Music Awards Cuba 2022held for four nights in the Sala Avellaneda of the National Theater of Cuba, where 16 young artists from nine provinces of the country competed.
In total, four prizes were awarded at the final gala, where in addition to the winners (with the theme Channel); the singer Alejandro Padrón (from Mayabeque) with the song paint me reached second place. The third seat was shared between Saheed Mohamed, from Havana, with rip my voice outand Dairys Álvarez with the song I want to be the same.
On the other hand, the singer Ana Marian deserved the popularity award with more than 9000 votes received, thanks to the interpretation of the song Save mewhile critical acclaim went to Aníbal Ramos from Cienfuegos for his interpretation of My best song. The jury also highlighted the young Camila Daniela, “for being a young singer-songwriter, something that the current Cuban music scene needs,” says the information published in official media.
The jury of the contest was chaired by Joaquín Betancourt, National Music Award, and made up of Haila María Mompie, Waldo Mendoza, David Torrens and Jorge Robaina, on the Cuban side; the foreigners were the singer-songwriter Riccardo Cocciante, Flavio Ferrari, director of operations for the SRMA brand, and Nicola Convertino, artist and entrepreneur.

During the final night of the contest, Jorge Gómez, director of the Moncada group, joined the jury in a gala that included the participation of the international artists Sonia Matzza, Sara Scognamiglio and Rosella Zitiello, winners of previous editions of the San Remo Music Awards.
Haila María Mompié and the guest Sucel, starred in a tribute to the Italian diva Raffaella Carrá, deceased in July of last year and of great popularity not only in Italy, but also in the Caribbean nation.
The event, which will end this Sunday at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, was not exempt from controversy after the cancellation of the Spanish artists Alex Ubago and the duo Andy and Lucas, as well as the Mexican Kalimba.
