Due to the Hurricane Season, Edesur launches a Contingency Plan

The company Edesur Dominican launched its Contingency Plan for before, during and after Hurricane season 2022, with the aim of guarantee the restoration of the electrical service in the shortest possible time in the territory under its responsibility.

They assure that surveillance and security measures will be increased in the substations that belong to the company, and that they carry out actions to address the impact on the electrical networks.

They added that staff Edesur is trained and willing to contribute to the stability, quality and continuity of the electric service.

They reported that priority will be given to the circuits that feed national security centers, medical centers, aqueducts, official shelters and other sensitive State institutions, ensuring the physical integrity of the personnel and environmental protection.

Preventive measures

Meanwhile, the engineer Walther Parra, distribution management director of Edesursaid that among the preventive actions are identified work teams from the different areas to guarantee the operation of the company in case of emergency, special training for the personnel involved, preventive maintenance of the substations and networks.

Agreements with Civil Defense and Firefighters

Edesur The Dominican Republic signed an agreement and created a security protocol with the National Association of Firefighters (Asonabom), and with some 15 firefighters in the territory under its responsibility, to attend in a coordinated manner emergency situations, which involve fire and electricity, fall of poles and trees.

Another agreement signed by the distributor was with the Civil Defense to coordinate prevention actions.
