Santo Domingo.- Officials of the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry, in the framework of the persecution and attack against micro-trafficking, dismantled a center for the preparation and sale of controlled substances, in an interdiction operation carried out in Los Alcarrizos municipality, Santo Domingo province.
The anti-narcotics agents, after receiving intelligence reports, together with several prosecutors, proceeded to carry out an operation on First Street in the Los Barrancones sector in Los Alcarrizos, where they arrested a man in a shack and seized more than 6,450 grams of different drugs.
At the scene, 2,804 grams of cocaine, 3,564 grams of marijuana, 92 grams of crack and six of hashish, a digital weight, two scales, four cell phones, knives, 9,400 pesos in cash, among other evidence were seized.
The 26-year-old detainee is already in the hands of the Public Ministry to learn about coercive measures in the next few hours, while the investigations in relation to the present case are expanded.
In recent weeks, the authorities have redoubled interdiction operations against drug micro-trafficking throughout the national territory, removing thousands of portions of different drugs from the streets and arresting individuals who violate Law 50-88.
