Dr. Lourdes Moreno: ‘Of people with a complete vaccination schedule, we have 10.6% who are hospitalized’

The doctor also mentioned that of 77 patients with a complete vaccination schedule vs. 648 hospitalized unvaccinated patients, the percentage is minimal.

The national head of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), Lourdes Moreno, revealed this Monday that the deaths and hospitalizations of Covid-19 are occurring precisely in people without a complete vaccination schedule and especially with chronic diseases.

He indicated that 10.6% of people with a complete vaccination schedule are hospitalized. “The highest percentage of these patients arrive at the ward, meaning that vaccination helps them to have a better evolution of the disease,” she specified.

The doctor also mentioned that of 77 patients with a complete vaccination schedule vs. 648 hospitalized unvaccinated patients, the percentage is minimal, and of that total of 77, some 72 arrive at the ward and 5 at the ICU, who are people with strong comorbidities.

Regarding deaths, 97.3% (1,943 from when we have the second dose in Panama) do not have the complete vaccination schedule, and of those 1,353 with no dose. With 3 doses there were 53 deaths, which represents 2.7%.
