Dozens arrested, weapons and stolen motorcycles recovered

Los Alcarrizos.- Dozens of people were arrested, motorcycles and firearms recovered as a result of preventive operations carried out by the police in this and other municipalities.

The regional director of Santo Domingo Oeste of the Police, Colonel José Suárez Burgos, reported that the agents under his command seized a pistol reported stolen by its owner on May 21, 2021 in a neighborhood of this municipality.

As well as two stolen motorcycles, one in San Francisco de Macorís and another in San Cristóbal on November 22, 2018 and 01 of the same month.

Regarding the occupation of the two motorcycles, Colonel Suárez Burgos indicated that the occupants whose names were not disclosed were arrested.

The prisoners were transferred to the different detachments and purged by the agents as well as the motorcycles.

He added that within the framework of the preventive operations, 53 motorcycles were retained, whose owners and drivers lacked legal documents, remaining in the hands of the authorities.

Preventive operations were carried out in the Pueblo Nuevo, Landia, Chavon, La Piña, Las Mercedes, Savica and other municipalities located in Pedro Brand and SDO.

The director said that Dicrim members led by Colonel Edward Bautista, Colonel Jofres Guzman, department commander (0-1), Toppo Tactical Unit and Z-8 personnel participated in the operations.
