A downpour on New Year’s Eve was recorded in the town of Ascensión de Guarayos. The people who live in that town hope that it will be the end of the drought that causes shortages of drinking water.

As the saying ‘camba’ says, “it rained a full pitcher”, said the neighbors, who witnessed, first, how it got dark, at 4:00 p.m., and then they celebrated the precipitation

Heaven was angry because Camacho was imprisoned“Some joked, while others, especially the elderly, were frightened by the noise in the sky.

The truth is that this tremendous downpour, Adding to what already existed, it collected water in Río Sapoco’, from where the liquid is pumped to the reservoir lagoon and from it to the purification plant, to later supply the town.

As is known, Ascensión de Guarayos, for more than a month, has been going through an acute shortage of drinking water, people has had to go to old waterwheels, pauros and curichis, to stock up.

As a “patch” solution, water has had to be hauled in a cistern, from San Pablo 12 kilometers from the Ascension highway to Trinidad, to the purification plant, to later incorporate it into the distribution network.

However, this was not enough for a population that exceeds 60,000 inhabitants.so it had to be rationed, from one to two hours a day and every other day.
