Dollar in Colombia gains strength and rises above 4,700 pesos

This Wednesday, January 18, the dollar gained strength and it was positioned above 4,700 pesos after several days down with an average price below 4,600 pesos.

For the first hours of the day, at 8:37 am, the dollar registered an average price of $4,738.76. That is, 47.67 pesos above the TRM of the day, which is 4,691.09 pesos.

Now heThe day opened with a price of 4,720 pesos. For now, the maximum price of the currency is $4,749.00 and the minimum is $4,719.00.

It should be remembered that 2022 was the year of the historical maximums of the price of the dollar with respect to the Colombian peso. The foreign currency exceeded the barrier of 5,200 pesos. A figure that had not been recorded before in the history of Colombia.

With this, the Colombian peso came to complete a devaluation of more than 20% so far in 2022. In 2023, the first days of January, sand posted a currency rally.

For the second week of January, the dollar presented a downward trend that has led to to a revaluation of 1.2%. This has been one of the biggest advances among emerging currencies.
