The agent of the High Complexity Crimes Investigation Division (Diviac), non-commissioned officer Edu Nevado Moscol, confirmed that he received the complaint of the businessman Ítalo Ísmodes Bustamante against the former mayor of the district of Comandante Noel (Santa, Áncash) Marco Antonio Rivero, to whom he gave money in exchange for the award of public works.
Italo Ismodes has submitted a request to Judge Alexander Alegre to be excluded from the investigation by prosecutor Alejandro Galloso, because he claims that the delivery of money was not a bribe but an “agreement between private parties”.
Interviewed by The Republic, Ítalo Ísmodes affirmed that he attended the Diviac only to “ask for advice” from a “friend” and that he did not report any cases of bribery.

But the agent Edu Nevado declared before the prosecutor Galloso that Ísmodes did go to report the payment to the former mayor because he did not comply with the delivery of Public Works to his company nor did he return all the money he advanced.
The Entrepreneur (Italo Ismodes Bustamante) came to Diviac, specifically to the Anti-Corruption Department, to file a complaint against former mayor Marco Antonio Rivero, from the district of Comandante Noel,” noncommissioned officer PNP Edu Nevado Moscol, from the Diviac, told La República.
“Ísmodes said that he had delivered a large sum of money to former mayor Rivero to give him public works. That is, I directed him to some works and for this the former mayor asked him for a certain amount of money, “he said.
In the judicial hearing on this case that took place on Thursday, June 7, the defense of the businessman Ísmodes argued that he did not pay him a bribe to Rivero, because he did not influence the awarding of public works. This argument was distorted by the prosecutor Alejandro Galloso, who asked the judge to reject the action filed by the businessman in order to remove him from the investigation.
“According to what Ítalo Ismodes stated, he gave the money to the former mayor, but finally the work was awarded to another company. And seeing that Marco Antonio Rivero refused to return the money, Ísmodes denounced the fact before the Diviac”, he narrated. the Diviac agent.
The businessman, according to the non-commissioned officer of the Diviacassured him that he had several recordings of the meetings with the ex-burgomaster Marco Antonio Rivero, in one of his offices in Miraflores where He gave him the agreed money. “The businessman Ísmodes delivered as proof of what he denounced copies of the images that he took from the video that recorded the delivery of the money,” said agent Edu Nevado.
The evidence was sealed by cash.
That the businessman did report the case is shown by the fact that he provided the Diviac with copies of the videos he filmed of the payment of the bribe, which he denies.
Diviac agent Edu Nevado told this newspaper that upon receiving the evidence they had the signature and fingerprint of businessman Ítalo Ísmodes, and that they were sealed.
When the press spread this unusual case, The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor of Santa (Áncash), ex officio opened an investigation against Ítalo Ísmodes and Marco Antonio Rivero.
“Immediately, the Diviac forwarded all the proceedings with the sealed copies to the prosecutor’s office in charge of the case,” said PNP NCO Edu Nevado.
“According to what was stated by Ísmodes, he gave the money to the former mayor, but the work was awarded to another company.”
Testimony. Prosecutor Alejandro Galloso, who is requesting 4 years in prison for Marco Antonio Rivero and 3 years in the case of Ítalo Ísmodes, twice summoned non-commissioned officer Edu Nevado, who confirmed that the same businessman denounced the case.
