Director of the PN: “Out with police corruption in all senses”

The general director of the National Police, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then, guaranteed that within the institution there will be no “terror teams” that stain the institution, after reiterating that the police reform has begun.

“Out the police corruption in every sense of the word. Now there will be a rapprochement between the National Police and the community ”, warned the general director of the institution of order.

The boss of the institution of order spoke during a meeting with merchants, businessmen, ranchers and community leaders of the municipality San Francisco de Macorís, Duarte province, with whom he discussed issues related to the different problems and the actions that will be implemented in search of continuing to strengthen citizen security.

During the meeting, held in the Wholesale Club, the National Police Support Board was sworn in, whose members pledged to make the necessary efforts to strengthen preventive actions in the province and achieve closer relations between citizens and law enforcement officials.

At the meeting, coordinated by Messrs. Juan María García, head of the Chamber of Commerce, and Geraldo de Jesús Medina Reyes, it was agreed that the Board of Trustees will be elected next week. The Board of Trustees will fulfill different functions so that citizen security is strengthened and also protect the properties of the institution, including supervising the proper use of the patrol units.

During the act, Major General Alberto Then He said he was grateful for the support expressed by the different productive and community sectors of the Duarte province, after committing to work so that there is a greater rapprochement between the community and law enforcement officials.

“It is time to reconcile our Policeman National with all of society, but especially with good and hard-working people, “he said.

He expressed that he had a great interest in making San Francisco de Macorís a quiet town. He added that the security plan that is being implemented in the province will be strengthened.

While Mr. Iván García, president of the Dominican Federation of Merchants, congratulated the work that Major General Alberto Then has been doing.

He added that merchants throughout the country are committed to supporting the management of the new director of the National Police.
