The Vice President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, went to Parliament yesterday to exercise her defense before the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations (SAC). In her intervention, and with the assistance of her lawyer, she insisted that her signatures as president of the Apurímac Departmental Club were only to regularize registry acts and ruled out possible conflicts of interest.
Upon his departure, before the media, he considered that the two constitutional complaints made against him fall within the framework of the intention of a sector of Congress to stage a coup against him Castle Government.

During the hearing at the SAC, Boluarte’s lawyer, Alberto Otárola, emphasized that the report on the case prepared by the Comptroller does not specify in what terms the alleged management that qualifies as a conflict of interest occurred, by Dina Boluarte.
He added that the documents signed by Boluarte are for registration regularization, on events that occurred between May 2019 and June 2021; that is, before she is elected vice president. “The former president of the Apurímac club (Boluarte) was obliged to sign these documents, even when she was already on leave,” he stressed.
At another point, Otárola referred to the procedure that Boluarte did to apply for the club’s license. According to what she pointed out, she was the only one who could do it, “to the extent that she had the last registry entry.”
In fact, at the hearing mention was also made of the document sent by Boluarte before the Tax Administration Service (SAT)in December 2021, for a property tax exemption.
Regarding the latter, the club’s treasurer, Néstor Amado Camargo, who attended as a witness, explained that this procedure is carried out by all the departmental clubs, within the framework of a regulation that allows it.

During the same hearing, the notary Jorge Luis Gonzales questioned the license requested by Dina Boluarte regarding her position as president of the clubnoting that it does not have a registry entry.
“Since 2019, she continues to be president (of the club) as far as I know, and the license she has requested, I understand, has not generated a registration, (…) the subsequent situation has not changed,” he said.
Consulted by La República on the subject, the lawyer Alberto Otárola maintained that a license is not a matter of registration. “What happens is that the waiver or the license cannot be registered, they are not registered with Public Registries”, express.
The club’s treasurer, Néstor Amado Camargo, specified that in January of this year Dina Boluarte granted him the powers for the procedures before the metropolitan municipality of Lima.
During yesterday’s session, Martha Moyano (Popular Force) tried to limit the intervention of Otárola so that he does not ask questions of the witnesses. The request was rejected by the head of the SAC, Lady Camones.

The Ombudsman’s Union sent a document to the Third Constitutional Court of the Superior Court of Justice of Limarequesting that it order Congress to comply with the precautionary measure granted for the suspension of the election of the defender.
