The current Minister of the Interior, Dimitri Senmache, faces a complicated scenario with two notices of motion of censure and the collection of signatures for the admission of any of them, and a constitutional complaint filed against him last Thursday; his permanence in office is threatened by the Congress. In this scenario, Senmache has stated that he is willing to abide by what Parliament decides; but what will this decision be?
The Republic communicated with legislators from different caucuses to better understand the Handling of this issue in the Legislative and review how the rest of the congressional benches could take the motions of censure (Popular Renovation and Popular Force) and the constitutional complaint (Avanza País).
The position in favor of the permanence of Senmache in charge of the Ministry of the Interior is marked by Víctor Cutipa, from the Peru Bicentennial bench, and Katy Ugarte, from the Magisterial Block of National Agreement, both resigning from Peru Libre and with approaches of rejecting the motions of censorship.

For Cutipa, the congressional measure it is “part of a systematic attitude of the opposition”, which has been taking place since after the second round, and the only thing it does is “damage not President Castillo’s administration, but rather it harms the destiny of the country”. In that sense, the congressman said that there is a consensus of opinion on this issue among the members of Peru Bicentennial.
Ugarte, for his part, defined the measure as “premature”. “The month of work has not even concluded, he has released the entire report, as has been requested by colleagues from the benches who requested his presence, the only thing we ask of you is that you make more efforts to work.(…) That is not why you are going to be censored and look for another minister,” the parliamentarian pointed out.
In addition, Ugarte asserted that it is an “irresponsible” action on the part of the other legislators.

Who also shares that same concern is the congresswoman Ruth Luque, from the Cambio Democrático caucus, who emphasizes that Senmache has always been willing to testify before Congress. “The minister He has come to the Plenary under a motion of investigation, in that same week he was summoned to four commissions”said the parliamentarian.
Luque is not so close to the State, and is critical of the Interior Minister’s management, but considers that his institution should focus on “locating the people who are involved in acts of corruption who have been in the immediate environment” and in resolve the “context of high citizen insecurity, which is actually the strong problem to which the population is demanding greater attention right now.”
“Regardless of who is the minister, We are not able, therefore, to guarantee in a sustainable way that whoever is in charge of the Ministry of the Interior can develop concrete policies and actions in a program as central as citizen insecurity. If each situation is presented in which ministers and ministers come out, that makes any policy of action unsustainable”he asserted.

The one who has clear reasons for a censorship against the head of the Interior portfolio is the congresswoman from People’s ActionKarol Paredes, who although she has not secured a bench position, personally believes that There are several points that must be evaluated in the permanence of Dimitri Senmache.
“On a personal level, I would support a motion of censure because it is not only the issue of Mr. Silva, (…) the issue of the people who have played in the country that we do not know where they are, that there is no answer clear. Another regarding the deaths that have occurred in different parts of the country due to the different social conflicts, the other issue is this also due to the issue of citizen security”, Walls listed.
These opinions show that, although Congress has reason to question the congressman, the general concern is that a constant change of ministers is not beneficial for the country, especially less than a month after Senmache’s admission in charge.
