DIGESETT carries out taxis on the main highways of the country

DIGESETT realiza carreteos en las principales autopistas del país

SANTO DOMINGO.- The General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (DIGESETT) carried out its traditional taxis on the main highways of the country this Sunday, with the aim of ensuring the safe return of thousands of people who moved to the interior of the country on vacation or to spend the end of the year with their families.

Colonel Rafael Tejeda Baldera, DIGESETT spokesman, said that the taxis began in the South at 2:00 in the afternoon, while others were carried out from Santiago and Punta Cana, all without incident.

The taxis were carried out in the East, on the Coral highway, from Punta Cana; in the North, in Santiago de los Caballeros; the South, from Baní, Sánchez highway.

We recommend: DIGESETT will carry out this Sunday the second phase of taxis

Likewise, they concluded the eastern one at the Juan Carlos Bridge, Las Américas highway; the North at the Kilometer 25 toll, Duarte highway; and the South in the toll of the Sixth of November.

The first phase of the taxis was carried out successfully last Sunday, December 26, 2021, during the Christmas and Good Night festivities.

The taxis consist of DIGESETT agents standing in front of the vehicles to control the speed of the drivers and avoid traffic accidents, due to the high number of people who return at the same time from the different towns of the Dominican Republic.
