Díaz-Canel congratulated Nicaragua on the victory of the Sandinista Front

The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today congratulated the Nicaraguan people for the victory achieved on November 7 last in the general elections and the consolidation of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN).

Upon his arrival at the Augusto C. Sandino international airport, the president affirmed that this victory has enormous significance for the forces of the left and progressive governments in Latin America and the Caribbean.

“It is a victory that also demonstrates the anti-imperialist conviction of the Nicaraguan people and the decision to continue advancing in the profound political, social and economic transformations led by the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity,” he said.

Accompanied by the advisor Luis Alberto Rodríguez and the ambassador of Havana in Managua, Jorge Luis Mayo, the head of state expressed his happiness after arriving in this Central American land, a sister and friend nation.

The swearing in of the FSLN leader Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, re-elected during the last general elections in Nicaragua, will take place this Monday in the Plaza de la Revolución in Managua, with the presence of several international delegates.

In addition to the Cuban delegation, the ceremony will be attended by representatives from countries such as Venezuela, Belize, Honduras, Bolivia, Iran, the Sahrawi Arab Republic, Russia, India and China; as well as the nearly 300 electoral companions in the last exercise of suffrage.
