This Tuesday, in the plenary session of the National Dialogue for the Social Security Fund (DNC), the report of its work sessions, which consists of nine volumes, was delivered to the director of the entity, Enrique Lau.
DNC work sessions lasted 9 months in order to find a solution to the problems of the Social Security Fund (CSS).
The dialogue began in February 2021 and will remain in recess pending the entity’s actuarial reports.
It is expected that in January 2022 a working group will be convened to analyze the operation of the CSS Disability, Old Age and Death program.
During the DNC sessions, a total of 1,422 proposals were presented, of which 217 were raised by two thematic commissions, one of them on the Disability, Old Age and Death program.
Dr. Lau expressed his gratitude to the members of the DNC for the work carried out and added that the CSS budget represents 25% of the General Budget of the Panamanian State. “We receive this document with great humility, we promise to analyze those documents,” he said.
He mentioned that the analysis he received will be delivered to the Executive Branch. He also stressed that the work of four thematic tables will continue, one of them is on the Disability, Old Age and Death program. “With this dialogue they have contributed to the social peace of this country,” he stressed.
