Details are adjusted in Cerro Largo for the Pre-Census 2023

In the next few hours there will be a training day.

All aspects of what will be in the month of February of the so-called pre-census 2023 are practically defined, a survey that will be carried out by the National Institute of Statistics that in this instance does not include contact with the population.

This week, specifically next Thursday, January 26, a training day will take place.

“As the date approaches, there are many things that need to be resolved. We are in the personnel selection part where 9 Supervisors and 33 pre-census takers are going to come out, who are defined this week. It is expected that they will start working in the first days of February on what will be the pre-census, an activity not with people but with people but in the part of the structure of towns, new streets and that kind of thing. These people will go on tours with devices that allow the addition of new paths or new streets so that when the census season arrives -April and May- everything is diagrammed in such a way that we can reach the entire population. We want everything to go as smoothly as possible.” express Andres Martinez.

“In this first stage, in the pre-census that will be carried out in February, there is no contact with the population. No one will be registered. The part of the structure of the localities will simply be verified” insisted.

Local Supervisors will have the last day of training next Thursday. They are people who will be distributed in the LAC – Census Service Places – in Melo, Aceguá, Noblía, Cerro de las Cuentas, Fraile Muerto, Plácido Rosas, Río Branco, Tupambaé, Arévalo, Arbolito and possibly Lake Merín as well. “The idea is to be closer to the population so that consultations can be made. In the months of the census, all the census takers will be very well identified. That when they come out to be in direct contact with the population. It’s not like that now” accurate.

“There was a first closing of registrations to the call for those interested in being census takers on January 2 to make a selection among those who have registered up to that date” said to THE PROFESSIONAL Journal. “This week the possibility of registering will open again because more people will be needed for the census stage” added the Departmental Supervisor of the 2023 Census.

It is a seasonal job opportunity that is not without importance. “People can work on something else and in turn dedicate another time of their time availability to the census. We ask that you register because in the event of a failure or something, there will always be people who can participate in the census.” explained.

Have the most accurate data possible

“The last census was done in 2011” remembered. “Censuses must be carried out by law, it is an obligation for governments. It is the most important movement that exists in any country in the world in times of peace. That is why it is being organized well in advance so that everything goes as well as possible. In search of that is that this entire structure is being put together to have the numbers as close to the reality of the country ” Andrés Martínez maintained.

“We believe that the information is going to be very important for those who have access to the country’s social policies. Knowing the data will know where to aim, what is wrong and what can be solved promptly ” sentenced the Supervisor of the 2023 Census in the department of Cerro Largo.
