Deputy Alessandri summons the government and urges to reinstate the State of Exception in the southern provinces

Deputy Jorge Alessandri (UDI) called for the restitution of the State of Exception in the southern provinces, after a string of acts of violence recorded in the area, such as the burning of 30 machinery and trucks in the Los Álamos commune, Biobío region.

The legislator pointed out that the government has not recovered from the State of Exception “for an ideological reason, for not wanting to use the tools of the rule of law. The President has the power, but he also has the obligation to use all the tools that the state gives him of Law to protect all Chileans”, gathers Cooperative Radio.

Let us remember that the government announced on Thursday the filing of a lawsuit for the arson attack in Los Alamos. They also announced this Friday the adoption of “strategic and operational” measures to address the acts of violence in the area, but ruled out the implementation of the State of Exception.
