Parliamentary leaders of the Chamber of Deputies unanimously agreed to meet next week to discuss and approve in “fast-track” the presidential initiative in electrical matters, despite the fact that the legislative calendar of San Lázaro considered Holy Week as a non-working period.
This Thursday, the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) agreed to hold two face-to-face sessions of the Plenary next Tuesday, April 12, exclusively for the discussion of the constitutional reform in electrical matterswhich is expected to be a marathon session.
It was specified that a session will be opened at 10 in the morning, to publicize the opinion coming from the United Commissions of Constitutional Points and Energy-which will be ready on April 11-, to immediately convene the next one, which will be a single session, with the necessary breaks, until the discussion of the project sent by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is completed, which proposes to give the Federal electricity commission (CFE) handles most of the country’s electrical energy.
At the end of the meeting, the president of the Political Coordination Board, the PRI Ruben Moreira Valdezrecognized that the majority parties did not accept the last call of the opposition to postpone the discussion of this reform after the June 5 elections.
“It was suggested that, well, now, if there is not going to be that possibility, then it will be discussed on Tuesday, and there are two sessions, one for publicity and the other for discussion. The message was sent and it was clear, and I keep insisting that it should be after the elections”, reiterated the PRI coordinator in San Lázaro.
However, Moreira Valdez denied that having accepted the discussion during Holy Week of the initiative of electrical reform It does not mean that the Va por México alliance (PRI, PAN and PRD) is going to approve the ruling.
“If there is an opinion and the majority of the deputies take it to the Plenary, then it has to be voted on. That does not mean that it is voted in favor ”, he concluded.
And it is that he anticipated the start of the Jucopo meeting, the leaders of goes to Mexicothe deputies Rubén Moreira, Jorge Romero and Luis Espinosa Cházaro, reproached Brunette because they do not incorporate the 12 points raised by the PRD, PAN and PRI, in addition to condemning the attempt to pressure opposition deputies to vote in favor.
Due to the above, they reiterated that the parliamentary groups of the PRI, PAN and PRD, which make up the “Va por México” legislative coalition, will not accompany the electrical reform promoted by the President of the Republic.
At a press conference, Moreira Valdez maintained that they will vote against the electricity reform, since Morena is not willing to consider in the opinion the 12 points promoted by the opposition to improve legislation on the matter, which will benefit the businessmen.
While Romero Herrera disapproved of intimidating or summoning opposition deputies to a rebellion, since all the legislators that make up this legislative alliance, and even some of other parliamentary groups, will not vote against the electricity reform for obedience, they will do it out of conviction.
It is incredible that we are in a country in which, if you have an idea, no matter how good it may be, but different from that of the President, they consider you a traitor to the country and that loyalty to the country is to what a single person and that will not be the case”, he stated.
Meanwhile, Espinosa Cházaro reiterated that they will not support the electrical reform, since the intention is to remove the Federal Executive by “steam” and by “obedience”.
“The reform is not going to happen. We are ready to give our arguments and we do not accept the qualifier that the Executive intends to give us: There is no betrayal of the Homeland, and if there is -he asserted- it is happening when you lie to get a Revocation of Mandate that violates the norms that we we have given; and we have the country full of billboards of the president in a personal promotion, while the Secretary of the Interior uses National Guard planes to campaign for Morena,” said the PRD.
