Deputies form commission to study reformed budget

Diputados conforman comisión para estudiar presupuesto reformado

The Chamber of Deputies conformed this Tuesday a special commission for know the project of reformed budget for this 2022 deposited in the Low camera by the Executive Branch in order to redirect public spending to areas of greater importance such as fuel subsidies and raw materials due to the impact of the economic crisis that continues to affect the country due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The commission will be chaired by the deputy of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Francisco Paulino, who announced that he will add to the discussion on the piece whoever is necessary and will seek to find possible modifications to the initiative presented by the Executive Power.

It is recalled that the general director of the budget, José Rijo Presbot, assured that the reformulation of the budget does not contemplate an increase in financing previously approved for this year in the general budget of the nation.

In addition, with this proposal, the Executive Power hopes to be able to allocate more than 92 billion pesos to counteract the effects of inflation, which according to data from the Central Bank for the month of June was just over 9 percentage points.

After the special commission knows the reformed budget for the remainder of 2022, the piece will go to the Senate of the Republic so that the congressmen of the misnamed Upper House can study the initiative and turn it into law if no modifications are made to it. which was delivered by the President of the Republic.
